The application of heat on the lower abdomen is the easiest way to control menstrual cramps. Heat helps relax the contracting muscles in the uterus.
Apply a heating pad over the lower part of your abdomen and also in the lower back of your body. You can even make use of the plastic bottles filled with hot water. Applying the heat to these areas may help reduce pain. You can soak a cloth in hot water and apply to these areas.
Even taking a hot shower may relieve pain and make you feel more relaxed.


The plant has a large significance in the medical industry. Tulsi leaves contain analgesic properties that relieve pain, without any side-effects. The caffeic acid present in basil has pain-killing properties.
Heat some water in a pan and add few tulsi leaves into it. Let the water boil. Allow the water to cool and sip from this every few hours to lessen your stomach cramps.

Add one teaspoon of fennel seeds to a cup of boiling water. After the water completely cools down, add one teaspoon of honey and mix well. Drink this herbal tea two times daily beginning three days before the expected start date of your cycle.
