The technology trends are evolving very rapidly. And, to keep the companies pace with the evolving trends, you will have to pay attention to all the upcoming trends in technology. What are the evolvement in the IT industry in the upcoming stage and how to cope up with these upcoming trends?

Artificial Intelligence

According to the father of Artificial Intelligence, John McCarthy, it is “The science and engineering of making intelligent machines, especially intelligent computer programs”.Artificial Intelligence is a way of making a computer, a computer-controlled robot, or a software think intelligently, in the similar manner the intelligent humans think.
AI (artificial intelligence) is the simulation of human intelligence processes by machines, especially computer systems. These processes include learning (the acquisition of information and rules for using the information), reasoning (using the rules to reach approximate or definite conclusions) and self-correction. Particular applications of AI include expert systems, speech recognition, and machine vision.
The technology, media and telecommunications industry has the highest expectations for AI to accelerate new product and service offerings of all industries tracked in the study, projecting a 52% point increase in the next five years. AI-based improvements are expected to deliver Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) gains in the Financial Services and Professional Services industries as well. 75% state that AI will allow them to move into new businesses and ventures. The research shows that AI will be the catalyst of entirely new business models and change the competitive landscape of entire industries in the next five years.

Era of Voice and Visual Search

In the era of digitization, voice and visual have begun to take over as the main channel of communication between retailers and consumers as the concept of typing slowly diminishes.
Google’s voice recognition software is near to human-level accuracy as it can understand the human language with 95% accuracy. Nearly 70% of requests are natural/conversational language.
This level of understanding has been achieved due to machine learning algorithms which detect speech and respond with thorough results.
As usage of voice search surges, visual search is gaining popularity alongside. With about 65% of the population consisting of visual learners, more than half of the population absorbs information better through images.

Augmented Reality

Augmented Reality is a one of a technology which you will come across in 2018. It is basically a new form of viewing of objects under the blue sky which have its elements “augmented” by an advanced computer system.
If you haven’t yet heard about AR, then let me tell you that it is going to change the world and how! From Google Glass to Pokemon Go (which got downloaded by millions of people within the very first week of getting launched), the world has seen people enjoy the way AR has influenced the world of entertainment.

Virtual Reality

Virtual Reality is a computer-based recreation of a real-life situation which appears to be livelier than the original incident. A leading digital agency in USA claims that virtual reality is the gateway between mankind and the future which he always dreams of.
So, your colleague has been boasting about this wonderful VR Headset he bought last month, and you cannot really understand why! Well, you wouldn’t be able to, until and unless you experience the same. Highly trending since 2017, the most popular ones include Google cardboards, HTC vive, Oculus Rift, Playstation, etc. This too has taken the gaming experience, a few notches higher.

BlockChain

The blockchain is a serious one among the technology trends in 2018 and has various kinds of benefits behind it. It is mainly known as a digital ledger which will chronologically arrange/record the transactions made in bitcoin (or in any other cryptocurrency)!

5G

Many of us are familiar with ‘3G’ and ‘4G’ on our devices, and we can expect an inevitable jump to ‘5G’ coming soon. This change, however, promises far more than an arbitrary number change.
5G has been reported to hold theoretical speeds of 1-10Gbps. To put that into context, 5G could be 1000 times faster than 4G’s 100Mbps. Moreover, 5G will operate in a higher frequency spectrum than previous networks, with government proposals citing 90% national coverage within 4 years of its introduction. 1ms latency means virtually instantaneous response times to the estimated 50-100 billion connected devices, allowing for capabilities unlike ever before.

Driverless Cars

5G drastically pushes the concept of truly driverless cars as a very real reality. Always connected ‘smart’ cars would allow for leisure, business, and transportation journeys to be completely autonomous.
Fancy eating your breakfast during your commute to work? How about sleeping comfortably through the night as your travel to a destination 100 miles away? 5G also lets vehicles communicate with each other, virtually eliminating traffic jams and vastly minimizing road accidents. This opens the door for companies to reduce lost time in travel and commuting, prompting a complete re-think for business operations.
Its high time that the human race gets upgraded to something new and which was beyond the scope of their imagination for all these years.
